Co-op introduces Bonmarché outlet in-store under new partnership

Co-op has unveiled a tie-up with Bonmarché, with the value fashion chain opening an outlet in the grocer’s Louth store in Lincolnshire.

Louth’s Co-op, located in Northgate, has undergone a 12-week programme of works and improvements, with the makeover featuring the launch of the 3,000 sq ft Bonmarché outlet, representing the first partnership between the retailers.

Bonmarché retail director Amanda Waterfield said she hoped the shop-in-shop “will lead to more Co-op partnerships in the future”.

The fashion retailer, which recently revealed plans to open 100 new UK stores over the next 18 months, will sell clothing in sizes 10 to 28 in the store.

The store revamp also includes a new look and layout, with hot food, bakery, and Costa coffee express, according to the supermarket. Additionally, parcel collection services are available for visitors via InPost Lockers and DPD.

The grocer’s director of format and innovation Mark Matthews said: “As we invest in transforming our Louth store we are committed to creating added services which provide a compelling customer offer in the community.

“The addition of a Bonmarché store will offer further value and choice for our member-owners and customers in Louth.”

Waterfield added: “Bonmarché are delighted to be a part of the exciting re-launch of the Louth Co-op store and to be able to offer our fashion to the Louth customer.

“We cannot wait to meet the customers on the launch day, and hear their feedback on our current collections, and hope this opening will lead to more Co-op partnerships in the future.”
