The Real Greek launches first retail range in Tesco

Greek restaurant group The Real Greek is launching its first range of retail products into Tesco stores nationwide.

The range of 15 products features a selection of hot meals based on classic Greek dishes such as Pastitsio, Moussaka, chicken with feta and olives, meatballs with orzo, halloumi skewers and lamb kofta.

There are also ingredients to create chicken or pork souvlaki at home, alongside cold meze such as houmous, tzatziki, olives and flatbreads.

Developed in collaboration with food importer Rondanini, the new range looks to cater to the growing popularity of Greek cuisine in the UK.

The Real Greek chief executive Marcel Khan said: “We’re excited to be able to bring restaurant-quality dishes to the aisles of Tesco supermarkets across the country.

“With the size of the new range, we’re giving shoppers a lot to choose from and making it easy for them to create memorable dining experiences that celebrate the rich flavours and traditions of Greece.

“The growth of Greek cuisine is only set to continue in the UK and we’re confident that this innovative new range will deliver the taste of the Aegean that consumers are looking for.”

It comes as the group has seen demand for new openings of its restaurants across the UK, having added two new sites in Sheffield and Liverpool at the start of 2024, bringing its total portfolio to 27.

The launch of the new retail range in supermarket giant Tesco will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign, spanning digital advertising, shopper promotions and social media activity.
