Spar has named its new president of Spar International, Dominic Hall, the joint managing director of James Hall & Co.
The new appointment comes as the inaugural election of a Spar UK representative to this role, which was announced at the 67th International Spar Congress, which took place in Malta on 21 and 22 May 2024.
Hall has held a role in the James Hall & Co family business since 1999 and represents the fifth generation of the Hall family. He has also been a broad member of Spar UK Food Distributors since 2007, chair of the National Guild of Spar UK since 2011, and became a member of the supervisory board of Spar International in 2017.

James Hall & Co is one of of Spar UK’s regional distribution companies which serves a network of independent Spar retailers and company-owned Spar stores across Northern England from its base at Bowland View in Preston, Lancashire.

The new appointment comes after a series of new venture at the symbol group, including AF Blakemore, the wholesaler for Spar stores in Wales, becoming the official partner for Glamorgan Cricket.
